Andrew Uyeyama is a Senior Pastor at Placerville, California. Pastor Leif Cano – Associate Pastor, Placerville SDA Church

Pastor Leif Cano serves as the Associate Pastor at the Placerville Seventh-day Adventist Church in California. Ordained on October 22, 2022, he is recognized for his passionate leadership, musical talent, and dedication to youth ministry. His approach has significantly impacted many young individuals, guiding them toward a deeper relationship with Christ and encouraging enrollment in Adventist educational institutions.

Pastor Cano believes that while today's youth may be disenchanted with traditional religion, they possess a strong desire to help others. He emphasizes nurturing this passion by teaching about Jesus Christ and inviting the Holy Spirit into their lives. Notably, approximately 80% of the youth involved in his ministry come from non-Adventist backgrounds, primarily attending public schools.

Beyond his local church duties, Pastor Cano has extended his ministry to broader audiences. During a fall week of prayer at Pleasant Hill Adventist Academy, his messages on God's acceptance resonated deeply, leading seven students to commit to baptism.

Clearly visible from Highway 50, the familiar A-frame sanctuary of the Placerville Seventh Day Adventist Church opened its doors in December of 1971, but the story of the Placerville Seventh Day Adventist Church began 125 years ago. That's when the Placerville Church was first recognized. Adventist believers had already been meeting in homes, Grange halls, and tents for 10 years prior and were excited to now be able to make plans for a real church. The first church building served the congregation from 1896 to 1931.
