The students of El Dorado Adventist School, under the guidance of Nancy Schoonover, showed their generosity and kindness by hosting a pancake breakfast fundraiser to support the people of Ukraine who have been affected by the Russian invasion. The fourth-graders Carter Gatling and Mackenzie Jones, and third-grader Elle Norton, along with staff member Catherine Reeb, staffed the welcoming table and donned tie-dye shirts, made with the colors of Ukraine's flag, to show their solidarity.

In a touching display of compassion, the fifth-and sixth-grade students created a quilt two years prior, which just so happened to feature the colors of Ukraine's flag. The quilt was auctioned as part of the fundraiser and helped raise much-needed funds for the people of Ukraine.

The kindness and dedication of these students were recognized and highlighted by the Mountain Democrat newspaper, showcasing their efforts to make a difference in the world.

The Church Luau is a cherished tradition at the Placerville SDA Church and a highly anticipated event by members of the community. The Luau is a celebration of fun, joy, and community, where members come together dressed in their finest Hawaiian attire, ready to embrace the festive spirit of the occasion.

The Luau takes place at the church's experience center, and the atmosphere is lively, with the sounds of Hawaiian music filling the air. The center is transformed into a tropical paradise, with colorful decorations and a festive ambiance that sets the tone for a memorable evening.

The menu features a variety of traditional Hawaiian dishes, such as sweet pineapple, and the delicious aroma of the food only adds to the joyful atmosphere of the event. Aside from the delicious food, the Church Luau also features a range of fun activities, such as hula dancing, coconut bowling, and limbo contests, providing members with the opportunity to engage in some lighthearted competition and create lasting memories with their friends and loved ones.

The Women's Ministry of Placerville Seventh-Day Adventist Church is a vibrant and dynamic community of women who are dedicated to supporting, encouraging and uplifting one another. For many years, the Placerville SDA Church community eagerly looked forward to the annual Tahoe Camp Meeting every summer. This event was a highlight of the year, offering a perfect blend of fun and spirituality. The Tahoe Camp Meeting brought together members of the church community from all walks of life, providing them with a unique opportunity to connect with each other and with God.

The camp meeting was held in the beautiful surroundings of Lake Tahoe, and provided a relaxing and rejuvenating environment for attendees. It offered a diverse range of activities, including worship services, seminars, Bible studies, and recreational activities, such as hiking, boating and swimming. The evenings were filled with singing, praise and worship, and a sense of community and belonging.

The Tahoe Camp Meeting was a spiritual and transformative experience for many who attended. It was a time for individuals to connect with God, deepen their faith, and renew their commitment to serving Him. The memories and experiences gained at the camp meeting will be cherished by those who attended, and the friendships made will last a lifetime.

It is with regret that we must announce that the Tahoe Camp Meetings will be ending in 2023 and for the foreseeable future. Although this is a sad loss for the Placerville SDA Church community, we remain grateful for the memories and spiritual growth that was experienced at the Tahoe Camp Meetings, and look forward to finding new and meaningful ways to connect with God and each other.

The Placerville Youth are spreading love and positivity by giving out free hugs at El Dorado High School. If you're feeling in need of a little extra love or just looking for a bright spot in your day, come on over to EDHS and receive a warm and comforting hug from one of our members. It's amazing how a simple hug can make such a big difference in someone's life.

By giving out free hugs, the Placerville Youth hope to spread kindness and joy throughout the community. It's a small but impactful gesture that can help someone feel valued, supported, and loved. The Thanksgiving Picture Contest is a fun and creative way for the youth to express their gratitude this holiday season. The contest will run for a week, from November 20th to November 26th, with a different prompt for each day. The prompts are designed to encourage participants to reflect on the things, people, and experiences for which they are thankful.

On November 20th, the prompt is "something you love that you're thankful for". This could be a special object, a hobby, or a cherished pet. The goal is to take a photo that captures the love and joy that this item brings into the participant's life.

On November 21st, the prompt is "an experience that you're thankful for". This could be a trip, a milestone event, or a simple moment that brought happiness into the participant's life. The goal is to take a photo that evokes the memories and emotions associated with this experience.

On November 22nd, the prompt is "friend(s) that you're thankful for". This could be a group of friends, a best friend, or a mentor. The goal is to take a photo that captures the warmth and joy that these relationships bring into the participant's life.

On November 23rd, the prompt is "something you take for granted that you're thankful for". This could be a simple item such as running water or electricity, or a more abstract concept such as good health. The goal is to take a photo that highlights the significance and importance of these often overlooked things in our lives.

On November 24th, the prompt is "someone who inspires you that you're thankful for". This could be a family member, teacher, or a public figure. The goal is to take a photo that showcases the impact this person has had on the participant's life and how they inspire them to be a better person.

On November 25th, the prompt is "a place that you're thankful for". This could be a special location such as a hometown or a childhood home, or a more general place such as a park or beach. The goal is to take a photo that captures the beauty, peace, and joy that this place brings into the participant's life.

And finally, on November 26th, the prompt is "a Bible verse that you're thankful for". The goal is to take a photo that showcases the significance of this verse and how it brings comfort, guidance, and inspiration into the participant's life.

The Worship Night at PV Huddles was a powerful and uplifting experience for all who attended. This gathering was a special night dedicated to worshiping Jesus and building a firm foundation in faith. The theme of the night was "In Jesus, A Firm Foundation Worship Night", which was a reminder of the steadfast and unwavering nature of our faith in Jesus.
